The final painting in the AP series. * ** beaver ** * caps off a 2 year run of exploring animals native to British Columbia in a graphic style with a pop art flare. I explored and played with each animal as I attempted to blend previous abstract drips and cloud fields with a representational detail and dynamic illustrative imagery. I truly hope the playfulness and positive energy translates and the viewer’s experience is an uplifting one!

“Busy” is often the word associated with a beaver, the beaver never stops building. Be it a dam or a lodge, there is always work to be done. If there are obstacles, the beaver will persist. Maybe not the most formidable of natures beasts, the beaver none-the-less commands a respect unique to its skillset and nature. It never quits, something we all can take a lesson from… ~ jwc
